Reverting back to childhood?
I'm really getting into this Lensbaby stuff, especially now that my Velvet 85 finally arrived from the USA. And my chosen subject? Toys! Yes, I've been digging out old toys from the garage, plus buying a couple of Star Wars figures in the sale at Sainsbury's, and setting up little scenarios to photograph. Great fun, an excuse for a 70 year old man to play with toys again. I bought some macro converters for my Optic lenses too, and that has made a lot of difference to what I can achieve with these tiny dioramas. The grown-up stuff hasn't been forgotten, with some great talks on Zoom via camera clubs and the Royal Photographic Society. Highlights that spring to mind include Steven Le Provost, Andrea Hargreaves, Polina Plotnikova, Nat Coalson, Trevor and Faye Yewbury, Martine Hamilton Knight and Jane Lazenby. The national exhibitions are coming thick and fast now. I entered the Vale of Evesham, Basingstoke and Robin Hood exhibitions this month, and next it will be the Rushden Open. I also sent 3 prints off for the RPS Digital Imaging Group Print Exhibition. And my claim to fame for January? A mention in the Photography News podcast...
