Ups and Downs
Photographic Downs: Cancelling my week's holiday in the Lake District
Photographic Ups: Using Zoom to judge at Dunchurch PS, enjoy Campkins Cambridge Photography Week, join evenings at two of my camera clubs (Desborough and Rothwell PS and Leicester Forest PS) for talks, competitions and discussions, and also to attend Zoom presentations courtesy of the RPS, Corby Camera Club and Kettering and District PS. To name a few speakers I've enjoyed this month: Warren Alani, Ross McElvey, Phil Cooling, Nigel Goldsmith, Paul Millar, Sally Sallett, Robert Millin, Malcolm Hupman, Derek Buckett and Matt Parry. I achieved a third place in the Leicester Forest Open Competition, got two acceptances in the Frome National Exhibition 2020, as well as five acceptances in the 2020 Smethwick International Salon. I delivered a talk on Iceland to the DRPS which seemed to go down quite well. I've also purchased a Lensbaby Sweet 35 and a Twist 60 which I am very much looking forward to trying properly when my portrait and landscape work resumes properly. So on balance, it could have been worse...
