March 2019

A quiet start to March, with a disappointing lack of success in the first projected image competition of the year at my camera club, but I did get a "Commended" from Peter Yeo in the Fosse Inter-Cities competition. Watched (and photographed) Stamford AFC v Ossett United. Another home defeat - maintaining the mood for March. Peter Going did his usual excellent job of critiquing a selection of members' prints at the East Midlands Monochrome Group. My club hosted a battle with Lutterworth CoOp Photographic Society, which they won by a small margin. My images did not do too badly, scoring 17 and 18 out of 20, so I did not let "the team" down! I visited The Photo Show and bought a Lee Filters set for the Nikon 14-24 wide angle zoom, and a Manfrotto hard roller bag. The "photography" account is now rather depleted... I took 15 prints to the PAGB stand to see how they stood against CPAGB level assessment. More disappointment - only 3 were felt to be good enough! However, March ended fabulously - I went on an Urbex Road Trip to Belgium, organised by Tris at Natural Light Studio. Wow! It's another world! Amazing experience, and, I think, some fabulous images (although I have thought that before...)
